Wow, did we have a great drive this morning or what?
Lions, hyena, elephant and buffalo! The lions have been fairly scarce and when Pieter and Jan headed out this morning to find where the buffalo herd had slept last night they were surprised to suddenly have hyena and then lion on a small carcass, probably a buffalo calf.
The new camera is in and working, Nick and Helen are on leave in Johannesburg, and all is on track for our week of upgrades to begin from Wednesday.
Enjoy the drives, they are leaving currently at 6h30 (CAT) and 15h00 (CAT) everyday.
Another great drive this morning (actually the night drive June 22) and so nice to see the extended area that can be covered with the new cables down.
Again, great bird sightings. The Yellow Eye Canary took my breath away!
Someone please tell Pieter not to edit himself to eliminate humor. He said something about being more solemn but we all agreed, we like him just the way he is and he doesn’t need to go changing, not for us at any rate LOL
Thanks again.

A hearty Thank You to WildEarth, Pieter, Jan, Haley, Nick, Helen, and Rodney and all the workers both in front of and behind the camera. Thank you for all the hard work and effort that is going into this undertaking. An equally big thank you to Djuma game reserve for taking part in this and giving us this opportunity to visit your country.
Pieter is the greatest , he makes each drive he hosts a real experence , its nice that he takes the time to show us the little things as well as the bigger , rather than driving to fast to let us enjoy the area . Thanks so much to all the staff .

I am still in awe from that fantastic sighting! Thank you so much, everyone.
I’m unable to see the drives live during the week because a girl has to make a living, but I did get to see the videos and they were great. It’s still so amazing to me that all I have to do is turn on my computer and view wildlife and all its beauty at its best. I just want to thank everyone at Djuma and WildEarth for all their time and effort that is spent everyday and night in bringing WildEarth into our homes. So I will be very patience while all the upgrades are being done because I’m just really greatful when I do get to get on and if I miss out I’ll just check out the vidoes until everything is worked out. Thanks for all of your hard work and giving me a chance to view your world.
Thank you so much for your excellent commentary this morning…even butterflies!! Pieter is the perfect guide, thoughtful about those of us who want to know all we can about the wildlife he shows us. Please keep up the excellent work, and I really appreciate all of you out there.

This was the ultimate dream drive… it was almost like being there in person. Pieter’s excitement is very contagious and it just added to the feeling of being there!
Absolutely awesome job today all of you. Was not able to see the morning drive but watched a video of it and that was still exciting for me. I was however able to see the afternoon drive which was also very exciting since Pieter was able to spot the lions again.
I was only able to see the video of the kill but that was also amazing to me. excellent job of covering it to your crew. I was how ever able to see the afternoon drive and again Pieter was able to locate the lions again. What a party you must be having as we can hear it over the micraphone, Have a drink for me because here in the States it is much to early for me to have a Beer
Hello.
I was just curious. Is the photograph illustrating this entry in the blog taken from the morning drive? I missed that one (it happens when I’m asleep) and heard that it was fantastic.
Looking forward to the end of the week or weekend when I’m able to catch a night drive again.
Smalldog.
Thank you, Pieter, Jan, and all the staff for a fabulous African experience through WildEarth. Pieter’s knowledge and patience along with Jan’s (and the new camera’s) photo skills give the experience of a lifetime to those who can’t get to Africa themselves. The last two drives have been beyond imagination.
The morning drive was AMAZING!! We were all on the edge of our seats!!! Excellent job Pieter, Jan and Hayley! How cool too that the new camera was there for this. Got lots of excellent pictures from it.
I couldn’t believe how close you guys got to the lions! I am still in awe of it all!
Thank you once again for a most amazing drive. WildEarth is awesome!
