Since yesterday morning WE have not been able to connect to the server in Pretoria. The network line between Djuma and Pretoria has been down. This line is made up of a few microwave links from Djuma to Acornhoek via Hluvukani and then a long series of fibre optic connections that go through Bushbuck Ridge, Hazyview, Nelspruit and eventually to Pretoria. The fault has been reported and we are sure that Telkom are working hard to reestablish the line.
WE don’t know when it will come back on, but it doesn’t usually take too long. One of the upgrades that we are working on is to put in a second redundant connection between Djuma and Pretoria that follows a different path. This will then dramatically reduce the chances of not getting a stream out to you.
Hang in there … WE’ll be back soon!!
Well I have been logged in when the dump occurred and I have not been in when the dump occurred and I have connected as well that way also by clicking until at the approximate time when I expect the dump. I am sorry you have not seen a drive, but you do have a chance like everyone else. Hopefully by the end of this week this will be all behind us and we can move on to better topics.
Dear WildEarth:
Smalldog here. I really wish you would not approve and publish anymore of these posts from the annonymous person who calls herself (himself?) “complainer.”
This discussion of who complained and calling others “hogs” has been put to rest on the BOMA (the members ourselves have put it to rest) and now this is only place that person can come to keep the old story alive.
I really feel that posting his or her comments is just feeding this person’s fury and not settling anything for anyone. Nothing any of us can say or do will please this individual, and, he or she is really not typical of the Boma members.
Thank you again for your consideration. I hope the next comment from that person will NOT be published.

Complainer, since everyone is bumped how can it help to be logged on when you get bumped? Everyone is in the same boat when that happens. So just because someone wrote to stay on, it doesnt mean it will do them any good. Try to connect at the bump like the rest of us and stop complaning. Time is getting near when this is a non issue. We have had enough whining about it to the point it is distracting from the fun

if you guys are staying logged in and the “dump” as you all call it, occurs all you have to do is click once and youre all back on! you people have even discussed it at africam forum!
now do you see what i mean? how does this help those of us who just want to see a drive or two? us unpriveledged are still not getting on the drives. would it hurt to just not watch a drive or two so others may enjoy what you all have been enjoying since these drives started? apparently so!
– the complainer and a bomite
yes i am one of you guys at africam forum who has yet to see a drive!
Smalldog here. Just had the most enjoyable drive. Congratulations on the new camera. It is awesome and Jan really got us amazing closeups of a yawning Hippo, and a new bird for my virtual bird list, the Bateau Eagle.
And people, let’s drop the complainer/hog nonsense now, ok? It’s like children bickering over the last piece of chocolate.
Take it to private messages or emails.
Thanks again. Thoroughly enjoyed my one and only ride this week!

I saw part of the Sunday afternoon drive with the new camera. It is wonderful!!!! I really appreciate all the time, talent, technology, equipment, dedication and work that goes into taking us on these drives. My heartfelt thanks to all the WildEarth crew.
Please can you post what time your game drives are streamed? I have to calculate it to my time zone, but have yet to connect successfully and am dying to see even a tiny glimpse!! Thanks!!
Thanks for the up-date !

so now atleast one admits to staying logged on giving one less person a chance to view the drives.
when they found out who complained they didnt have the nerve to say anything to me there in their own forum and you know i relise *they* are not any friends of mine.
