Presenters and power.

As I am sure you have all noticed, WE are trying out a few potential presenters at the moment. You have met Andrew and Omega, tomorrow morning you will meet Gerry and over the next days and weeks you will meet Chris, Piet, Angie and others. You see, WE are going to need two new presenters when the two new game drive vehicles arrive in April. There are also a lot of other interviews taking place behind the scenes for more directors, producers, editors, assistant directors, etc.

The whole country has been experiencing planned power cuts, called “load shedding”. This is caused by the fact that South Africa does not have the generating capacity to meet the demand for electricity. This ‘load shedding’ is apparently going to happen for the next 4 to 8 years. Well these power cuts do cause the ‘sorry screen’ on your players and this is not acceptable. WE have a couple of UPSs as well as two generators and this will allow us to get better at dealing with the power outages, but there will still be problems for a while. However, WildEarth will be installing a state of the art power management system, which will deal completely with all power situations and will mean that you never loose a second of your valuable viewing time. But this will only be happening over the next few months and WE ask for your patience in the mean time.

Thank you for letting us know what is going on rather than do a lot of guesswork. I appreciate you keeping us in your loop.

I wouldn’t know about any ‘try outs’ as I have not been able to access the site at any time of day or night for weeks.
Is this a problem with the ’80 viewers at a time’ or the power outages?
Why are you adding more drives instead of solving the 80 viewers limit first?
Nkorho seems to be able to broadcast all the time and even have people give frequent updates as to what is going on with the lions and other animals. This is better than nothing.
    Soooooo frustrated….

I know,I NEVER get in anymore and I haven’t for about 2 months

It isn’t fair that some people get in all the time, while others never do-when I got in before I would wait a few days at least before I tried again,so others would have a chance

Why can’t others do the same?

I think they should remove the ‘djuma viewer’ as unfortunately others are abusing by opening multiple tabs ect Or have so only one tab per ISP is allowed-it’s a great idea but now people are abusing it

I share in the frustration of the others that left comments.I have also tried everytime of the day to get to se djuma and haven’t been able to. I just wanted to watch the animals at the watering hole, but that wasn’t possible either. I think you should have bumps about every 3 to 4 hours so other people get a chance to view djuma. I’m at the point to where if it finally gets up and running and you have a chance for paying every month to see djuma, I think I’m just going to pass. I used to think it was a good idea but I’ve changed my mind. I’ll just keep watching Pete’s Pond which has decided to go live all year and Africam who has been live for a long time now and I will give my money to them as needed since I am able to view them at anytime.

As for fairness to some getting on the drives all the time while others are deprived…welcome to the real world…There is no set in stone method for any of us to connect…it is a lottery whether you have one method of connecting or ten…it is up to you to increase your odds of connecting and winning that lottery…I for one am looking forward to paying for a slot…this way I don’t have to work my viewing schedule around everyone else in the world and the dump.I will make my own guarantee of winning that lottery…

Thank you for giving us the opportunity to see many wonderful things that for some would never be possible. It can be frustrating at times when I miss the jeep, but that’s when I check out all the videos around. All of the presenters are so bright and a pleasure to watch. Thank you WE!!

I don’t really care about getting on the drives because I don’t have 3 or 4 hours a day to spare. I’d just like to see the watering hole and the animals that are near it. I think Haley and the others do a wonderful job with the camera and I find it more relaxing, but I can’t even get on at any time at all. I just think the site stays busy with everyone clicking and finding some way to view the drives. That’s my opinion and mine alone.
