WE managed to get the starter motor sorted out and now we have another problem. This time the distributor on the Tank has worn out one of its parts, and, you guessed it, they don’t make them anymore. So James is on his way into Hoedspruit where he will manufacture a new part with the help of some very industrious engineering shops. The minute it is done he will drive back into Djuma and immediately get to work on installing the new part. WE will keep you posted on how it works out. Hopefully the ‘Tank’ will be back on the road soon.
In the meantime Gowrie camera has gone offline and Jan is struggling to figure out why. He thinks he has traced it to a cable fault at the camera tree and WE all suspect that it is thanks to our very amusing technicians … the baboon teenagers that like to play with the camera and microphone in the afternoons.
WE all understand how frustrating it can be when the LIVE wildlife you love to watch is not there, but rest assured that a very dedicated team are hard at work to get WildEarth back to you as soon as possible … it will always be in our nature.
Tank and Gowrie broken … again!

oh my, ever think if checking Ebay Motors for parts? or why not post the exact make and model, year etc. and engine specs, perhaps someone who watches your webiste will feel generous enough to send spare parts to have on hand? you never know! Good Luck!
Hang in there guys and PLEASE don’t worry about us – we totally understand that some things our out of WE’s control and that you guys are working hard to get everything up and running again.
Thanks for the updates, and hang in there!

Have missed the drives and hope it can be fixed but my question is the tree cam seems to working now but has the zoom gone as it never seems to close up on the animals over the past few days ?
Thank you for the information. I was beginning to think it was me and my computer that was at fault in not getting the camera live. I have gotten to love the safaris in the tank. My one question is: How come can I get your pictures and not be able to get the Nkoro and Elephant Plain pictures? Is it because I’m looking at the wrong time of day? Oh well…some mysteries are never meant to be solved.
It is so great that you keep us informed so that we understand your problems.
WE are behind you all the way- the fans of WE thank you for all you do.
Thanks to all who keep the Tank in running condition and also for keeping us updated on what’s happening. I really appreciate it:)
Thanks for the update.
On the camera problem: Guess the problem was bigger than what the “techs” could fix so they had to call on the real techs of the WE team.
On the tank: Yes it could be fustrating but more so for the WE team. You guys shell out all this money and time to keep the tank and cam going while we get to sit back and do nothing but wait. You guys are amamzing at what you do and just know from me I appreciate it all whether its working or not. I do know sooner or later you will get the problem fixed. WE goes the xtra mile for us….thanks and cheers to all of the WE team, you are the best!
Chris
Thanks for the update. My heart goes out to you for all the setbacks you have gone through. As you have said before, no one has ever attempted to do something like this before. I am amazed by what you have accomplished in the last year. IMO no apologizes are needed for not being able to prevent/solve every problem you have faced. We viewers are receiving a magical gift from you each day that any transmission comes to us from Djuma and WE. I hope you are keeping your spirits as high as your expectations. Thank you for all you do for us.
Thanks for the updates – it relieves our anxiety by knowing exactly what’s going on!
I’m sure you’re even more frustrated than we are………….
Your “Gang” works miracles, so I’m sure you’ll all be back soon.
A great big THANK YOU! to all of WE.

You guys are great, hell I am still trying to work out how you pay for all of this, as I dont see ads all over the place like other live cams
Great drives, great presenters
cheers Janine
Goodness gracious…
I think it is safe to say that all of you are way more frustrated than I could be that The Tank is ill once again.
I tell you when it rains it pours, doesn’t it.
Gotta admit I do love watching our Mischievous Bab Cam Techies, but I think it is time that we all pitch in and build them a nice playground with a Jungle Gym and “Monkey Bars”, Swing Set and nice winding sliding board. And any thing we can think of that can dangle down for them to “think” they are getting in trouble trying to play with… lol
Yes, I have missed the drives and watching the cam, but… I feel more frustrated for all that WE is going thru trying to keep every thing going so you can share it with all of us.
Here’s hoping James and Jan have the best of luck in sorting out the manufacturing of new part and tracing the Gowrie Cam problem.
They say “good things come to those who wait”, so let’s hope we will have many surprises waiting for us when we can get back out in the bush with you. :)
BIG THANKS for ALL that you do.
Karen (from Virginia)
Thank you so much for the update! It’s much appreciated.

Thanks so much for the update. Somehow I reasoned it was the “tank” remnant parts… that did it in. From what I’ve heard, this should not be a huge problem with your sophisticated hot shot mechanics there who do all things short of miracles (and even some of those). I’m not just hopeful I feel confident all aspects will be up and purring.. just as you all say it will. I’m looking forward to that time.. Meanwhile all the best to the gang…. Cheers, Mike Dailing,Carlsbad
