Ralph grew up in Henley-on Klip, a village outside of Johannesburg, and spent his childhood holidays in nature: camping, fishing and boating. His father, who fostered this love of the outdoors, didn’t exactly expect this to become Ralph’s career path. But Ralph always knew that this was where his future lay.

Thus, he went off to Pretoria Technikon and studied nature conservation. After graduation he kicked off a long career of guiding which included Overlanding and exclusive 4×4 camping & walking safaris in Namibia where Ralph tracked desert lions, elephants and rhinos on foot in the remote wilderness of Damaraland.

As his career progressed he made his way into reserve management and guide training. He is a FGASA Specialist nature guide and assessor and CYBERTRACKER track & sign level 4 professional.

Ralph is excited to join the safariLIVE team as it allows him to continue his already extensive career in a new and interesting way. He is also looking forward to sharing his unique experiences and knowledge base with all of our dedicated viewers.
