‘Thank you!’ to all who have supported us during the campaign that ended yesterday. The response from the WildEarth community has been overwhelming and we are deeply grateful. Whether you contributed financially, sent us ideas, created awareness, or provided moral support, we appreciate it all! The hallmark of a strong community is that everyone helps in the way that they can!
So, where to from here? We think the success of the campaign has provided us with enough time to find a structural solution to the financial challenges we currently face. It will also allow us to keep broadcasting throughout Christmas and into the New Year while we do so and to keep connecting you, schools, and hospitals with nature.
We will still be working on reducing our monthly costs as much as possible, which also means most staff will unfortunately still need to be laid-off as part of our company restructure. Those who are directly involved with the daily safaris have been offered freelance/fixed-term contracts in order to keep these going as we work with you on reshaping WildEarth.
As many of you have indicated, you would like to contribute or join the Club, but could only do so in November so we will leave the campaign running on IndieGoGo for a while longer in order to provide that opportunity.
We will start sending out the various rewards next week, as well as start engaging and communicating with everyone on the many suggestions shared with us and on what our next steps will be. And we will start working with you, within the Club but also those who are not yet members, on making our plans for the future. More details on this will follow soon.
Once more, thank you all very, very much. The WildEarth community is second to none!
My kids helped me to donate as my Christmas present. The best gift they could give me is to keep the safaries going. They know how important it is to me.
Thank you Camille, Frederick, and Olivia.
I found Safari Live during a manic episode. I had been in and out of hospital and incredibly unwell. One day I was watching videos on YouTube, and I clicked on Safari Live. I was amazed that it calmed me down enough to sit and watch in a way that nothing else could.
Three years later, I’ve fallen in love with Tingana, and the rest of the Royal family of leopards. Safari live has made me laugh, made me cry many a time. I feel immeasurably blessed to have been able to watch Tlalamba grow into the feisty little lady she is becoming. Thankyou.
Wildearth TV have a number of live cameras situated at waterholes around the Hoedspruit area. For those of you still dreaming of or planning to come to Hoedspruit, we offer you the opportunity to witness live what is happening at these waterholes to show you what is waiting for you and your next visit.
If we missed the earliwr Indiegogo fund-raising drive, how can we donate to keep SafariLive alive???
Indiegogo doesn’t seem to take a donation now. I would like to donate.
Give us some info on how to contact companies like BBC Earth, PBS, or even Netflix, to suggest carrying you. Ideas on what to write or info you’d like included in such letters.
What I love about the show is not only the wildlife and nature, but the fact it is ALWAYS a different show! I’ve stopped watching regular TV and now mostly watch safariLIVE. I will be very sad if you have to stop. And will miss the great people too. And who would of thought learning about South Africa could be so fun!
I agree, that we should have a few commercial breaks to bring in sustainable income. Few commercial breaks do not take away from the whole broadcast as some of us are used to it when you do tv broadcasts. This program is part of my daily life. I am not able to work, have a condition that makes it hard for me to get outdoors, so this program helps me feel like I’m able to. I am excited about the future, as many in this community are.
So agree with everyone’s comments! Safari Live is my heart beat. Go team WE!!
As you are true bush drive not a commercial, how about approaching the tire company you use. Possibilities for commercials will provide an injection of funds to keep you on your independent track and bring awareness to nature we all love so much. This could also work with the vehicle make and model you use.
Dear Wild Earth ty for all you have done for us, we get to watch live animals in real time doing what they do and we get to see it…how wonderful is that!!. You have given us something that is raw and not scripped….its real and honest and changing everyday….Thank You for coming into my life. You will prevail!!
Congratulations!!!
I am sorry that I could not contribute any money for the cause. I am on a very low fixed government income and just had to deal with an emergency with my service dog. I am an artist and if you would be in need of some art to sell or use on shirts or whatever, I would be happy to try and help that way if you would like.
THANK YOU to everyone who did help. I am overwhelmed at the response and amount of support you all gave. Safarilive is a part of my pain management and mental health routine and so is literally like medicine for me. I will be praying for continued help.
Blessings to all !!
When do you start broadcasting again and how do we watch it?
Have watched Safari Live on YouTube several years now…absolutely love it! Leopards are my absolute favorite animal, so have loved watching Hosana, Thamba & Tlalamba grow up & become magnificent cats. So glad funds were raised to keep it going, at least for the next few months & hope that a viable solution will be found to keep it going indefinitely.
Thank YOU, Mr. Graham Wallington. Safari Live is an incredible wildlife show, educational, interesting and informative. Sometimes sad, sometimes funny, but always presented with professionalism and absolutely stunning photography. It is a priviledge indeed to be a part of this amazing Safari family. You have our ongoing support.
So happy we could all help, this has been a part of my life for many, many years. Nest of luck moving forward.
Go WE!
