As South Africa plunges into winter we are moving our Sunrise Safari half an hour later so that we match the sunrise times. Currently, the sun rises around 6.25 am here in South Africa which means the guides are searching for animals in the dark for nearly half an hour. With the dip in temperatures that winter brings we feel that it is better for all if we move our sunrise safari time to start at 6.30 am from May 15th, which is tomorrow.
Please find the new times below in a table for various time zones. Please note that the Sunset Safari will stay the same.
Never thought I would enjoy watching daily safaris, but here I am! Tristan Dicks is fantastic and the best naturalist you have – professional, extremely knowledgeable and clearly the one with the most experience. Enjoy his daily drives and anecdotes very much. James seems knowledgeable, but his dry humor often strays from the stars of your show – “the wildlife”. Maybe he should try his hand at being a stand up comic or replace his jokes with anecdotes from his years in the bush. Trishala seems very knowledgeable, but some mornings her voice just seems to fade. Lauren is a bit too excitable and keeps repeating herself. Her inexperience in the bush is evident, but she makes up for that with a great attitude and lots of positive energy. Your camera crew are all excellent. Its their images that really make the show special. All in all, enjoyed watching your broadcast and will definitely contribute to keep it going. Wishing you the best for your continued success!!
Do elephants have good eye sight.
This is an amazing concept and show. The safari guides are top notch and are very knowledgeable about the animals and conservation. This is the ultimate reality show where people can actually be entertained and learn something simultaneously!
James was correct: it WAS a Redbilled Firefinch and not a Jamesons! I saw the ring around the eye, the dash of yellow on the bill… and the utterly drab female!
I have discovered WildEarth and must declare I am utterly hooked!
77 years, 35 years of bush trails and safaris.. and still cannot get enough! Presenters/ guides are a feast (in spite of some saying “The lions are LAYING in the sun.” (lol)
Luv it.. thanks!!
James I think I have just finished reading your autobiography, Reggie and me. Loved it so much. Am I correct in saying that was you at Trinity College, Hamish?
